Musing Mondays (Feb.23)

This week’s question asks:
How often do you visit the library? Do you have a scheduled library day/time, or do you go whenever? Do you go alone, or take people with you?
I go to the library whenever they call me to tell me I have books in. I order most of my books from them via their online catalogue, and then the automated telephone system calls to let me know when those books have arrived, and are ready to be picked up. 
I don’t have a set day, or anything like that, where I go to the library. Mind you, I’m far more likely to be found making a trip there on a Saturday, just because it’s more convenient… hubby’s home with the kids, so I can get away by myself for a little while. 
And, I usually visit the library alone, but if I take anyone with me, it’ll be my kids. In the summertime, we often go to the library together to pick out books. I signed them up for the summer reading program for the first time, last year, and they loved that they got prizes at the end of the summer for how much they’d read — so I think we’ll be doing that again, this year, too.
Edited to add: I do still browse through the library’s shelves, on occasion — I couldn’t NOT do that! LOL. Have to see what new books they got in, and sometimes I just want something to jump out at me and say, “Hey, take ME home!” LOL. So, much as I make good use of the online catalogue, I still can’t help myself when I’m in there.
I love the library! I don’t think some people realize how easy it is to use and how much is there in addition to books!
It’s great how easy it is to order new books from the library these days but I hate how one has to wait months for new releases sometimes.

I do some of my books through the online catalog but I also try and go browse. All the online stuff takes some of the fun out of going in to look around.
My library is to small and never has anything I want.

gee, when I was a kid there was no summer reading programs with prizes! Not that I needed one…I was reading enough on my own…but i would have liked the prize.
I love the library. Sometimes I go to just sit and read my current book, not even to check anything new out.
My response is almost exactly like yours. I love being able to place books on hold online. I usually get an email telling me when books are in.
I’m like you…I like to order my books online first and then go pick them up.
Love the online book reserving! That’s all I do now. A time-saver AND the book I want is there : )
Some of the best books I’ve read are the ones I got when I went to pick up the books that were being held for me.
