Teaser Tuesdays (March 31)

March 31, 2009

teasertuesdays2Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! ;)

My Teasers:

Tom and I would both love that. We’re doing Anything Goes and–”

~ p.129, “Just Like That” by Marsha Qualey

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

  45. Can’t believe it is Tuesday again, and the last day of March as well! Time flies.

    http://nevernotreading.blogspot.com/2009/03/teaser-tuesdays.html

  46. I enjoy reading these but I’ve never done it. I tried once but what I opened to was so boring and irrelevant I never tried it again. Today, after reading the one at Poppin’s Lair, I picked up The Storyteller’s Daughter by Saira Shah (non fiction) and randomly found this on pg.34, lines 7-10:

“At an Edinburgh University reception she met a young medical student. He was the Sirdar Ikbal Ali Shah, the son of an Afghan chieftan. When she offered this impossibly glamourous figure a plate of cream cakes, he shot back a haughty look and declared: ‘We men of the hills have no time for sugar buns!’ ”

A genuine teaser when you consider what follows. I may try this again.

  47. Holy Cow, there are a lot of readers playing along today. I’m late… well, it’s still Tuesday. PST. LoL
    here is my link:

  48. Posted my tuesday teaser and a book review from last weeks teaser.

  49. Since mine is a recipe blog and my book is a non-fiction book about aviation :) I’ll post my teaser here:

“She never took well to the military lifestyle. The job and the places were bearable but that abominable officers’ wives club, the OWC, was beyond the call of spousal duty.” from Tail of the Storm: Flying Missions in the First Gulf War by Alan Cockrell.

Cockrell is a pilot and co-worker of my brother’s, and I must say, he is such a good writer he’s keeping my interest in a topic I wouldn’t ordinarily read about.

  50. And… what??? Oh… what a tease ; }.

    Here’s mine…

    http://theshadyglade.blogspot.com/2009/03/teaser-tuesday-33109.html

  53. I had such a huge week, including a new book released, I forgot to post my link !http://sandyfussell.blogspot.com/2009/04/teaser-tuesday.html

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
