This week’s question asks:

How do you respond to the comments on your blog? Do you try to email individually, or comment on the post yourself, answering the comments above? What do you think is the best way to respond to comments, and do you respond to all of them? Do you feel slighted if you don’t receive a response back from the blog owner?

I love getting comments on my blog, but I’m afraid I’m not so good at responding to them and/or commenting on others’ blogs. Occasionally I will respond to the comments on my blog by inserting my own comment, yes.

And, no, I never feel slighted if I don’t get a response from a blog owner. I know that people are busy, and they might not have time to read their comments. Or, maybe they get so many, that mine gets lost in the mix. That’s okay. I’m not one who takes offence easily.

I, personally, just don’t have time to respond to every person who comments on my blog. I try to read all of my comments, certainly! I even click through most of the links for my Friday Finds and Teaser Tuesdays events! But, I can’t respond to each and every one or I’d never, ever get off of my computer! (and, while I love my computer — my friends live in it!!! — I can’t spend all of my days on here, or my poor family would be neglected).

I honestly don’t feel there’s a “best” way to respond to comments… that’s an entirely personal thing. Some like to do like I do, and just leave a comment on their own blog to respond to others who’ve commented. Some like to email the blog owner. And, some like to go to the commenter’s own blog and leave a comment there (which I’ve done, too). All of it works.
