The Sunday Salon (April 26)
Well, my reading slump is most definitely gone! I finished 3 books this week! LOL.
I read my first Graphic Novel, “Blankets” by Craig Thompson. Not bad. Definitely better than I’d expected! You can read my review here.
Then I read a cute chick-lit novel (“The Life of Reilly” by Sue Civil-Brown) that was a lot more “meaty” than I’d expected! I don’t think I’ve ever read one that had more to it than just “fluff” before! Definitely a nice surprise!
And, lastly, I read a book about decluttering (Peter Walsh’s “It’s All Too Much“) which inspired me to finally go out to my garage and throw out most of the stuff I’d been hanging on to “just in case”.
I was going to get back into one of my review books, next: “Sweet Waters” by Julie Carobini. I even picked it up and read a few chapters. But, then another Peter Walsh book came in for me at the library (his newest, “Enough Already!“), so I’m reading that, first.
This week, on my blog: I mused about my favorite and least favorite books read, so far, this year; I shared a couple of sentences from “The Life of Reilly” for Teaser Tuesdays; I created a new blog to be my “online recipe box“; I failed to find any “new-to-me” book titles; I rambled about finding Christian themes in secular books; and I ranted about not liking it when people boycott a book without ever having read it themselves.

Have a great week, everyone!

Sounds like you had a great week! The Walsh and Civil-Brown books sounds like good reads – I’m off to check out your reviews of them now!
Have a great day!
apparently, I need to read It’s All Too Much. My garage has a lot of just-in-case and I know I no longer need it. I haven’t even looked at most of that stuff in 10 years. I’m glad you’re out of your slump!
I suppose I’ll never be a graphic novel fan. I finally picked up Shaun Tan’s graphic novel/wordless picture book and I could barely get through it. It felt too distracting to keep studying the pictures….I want some words!
Okay, that does it. I really need to read Peter Walsh’s book now! I have SO much stuff I’m hanging onto that I’m afraid to get rid off just in case I need it someday!
