I host two (2) WEEKLY EVENTS here at Should Be Reading:
The weekly FRIDAY FINDS event asks you to share with other bloggers about the new-to-you books you found during the week — books you either want to add to your TBR (to be read) list, or that you just heard about that sounded interesting.
I created this event because I am constantly “finding” new books to add to my TBR list, via blogs I read, other places on the web, through friends & family, or through browsing the local library. The books I add to my list are those that I’ve found in those locations, that I’ve never heard of before that time… and not books that have come into my possession.
I was tired of having a bunch of little pieces of paper with “TBR” titles on them, as those papers always seemed to get lost. This is a great way for me to keep track of those new-to-me titles, and to find more through others’ recommendations, or “Finds”!
FRIDAY FINDS participants are asked to either (1) write a blog post about their FRIDAY FINDS and then share the link in a comment at Should Be Reading’s “FRIDAY FINDS” post for the week, or (2) type your FRIDAY FINDS into a comment on that week’s FF post (if you don’t have a blog).
Friday Finds Archives:
July 4/08 | July 11/08 | July 18/08 | July 25/08 | August 1/08 | August 8/08 | (the rest…)
And…
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
There is only one VERY IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER:
*** Do NOT post anything that could spoil the plot of the book!!! ***
If your sentences that fall between lines 7 and 12 on the page you turn to give too much away, choose a different page, or a different spot on the page… we don’t want to ruin any surprises for anyone!
Every Tuesday, on the “TEASER TUESDAYS” posts, leave a link to your blog post where you’ve shared your “Teaser“. If you don’t have a blog, share the teaser in a comment on that week’s “Teaser” post.
