The Sunday Salon (June 28)
I can’t believe it’s almost July. Time is flying by this year… But, my reading has been great! I’m working on book #47! Normally I wouldn’t be doing that until about November… so this is progress! I may just hit my goal of 75 books this year, after all! Heck, maybe I’ll surpass that, even! Wouldn’t that be something!
I’m currently reading “Sunnyside Blues” by Mary Carter. It’s interesting enough. I just don’t like all of the foul language inside. The storyline — a bit of romance, a bit of mystery — is good, though.
Lately, I’ve really had a hankering to pick up a Classic, so last night I’d intended to jump into Jane Austen’s “Persuasion“. Then hubby came in to talk to me, so I didn’t get a chance to start reading (it ended up being 11 pm by the time he was tired of talking, so I just thought I should call it a night, rather than stay up to read — have to work today, so it wouldn’t have been good to stay up later). Hopefully, though, I can read for a bit tonight, after work.
I’m also in the mood for a “chunky“. I have plenty to choose from, but just don’t know which one to pick! I could combine the chunky and the Classic, and just read “Anna Karenina” (Tolstoy), but I think I’ll wait on that one. Or, I could finish “Inkspell“… I’m about half-way through. I was reading it, but set it aside so I could get to some review books. Then everything else kept getting in the way, and I haven’t yet gone back to it. I was enjoying it, mind you. I just haven’t felt like getting back to it, yet.
I have a gigantic pile of review books coming to me in the near future, but their blog tour dates aren’t until August. So, I think I’ll be able to squeeze in a few “just4theheckofit” reads in July.
I want to read one book for each of the following challenges I’m in: TBR *Lite*, Chunkster, Classic, and Raved Reads.
Anyhoo. Hope you all have a great week of reading! Cheers!

Finish Inkspell? I loved Inkheart and have been meaning to get to the other two novels in the series for a long time. Hope you have time for lots of “just4theheckofit!”
Today I am reading Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. Happy reading!
So many choices. Happy reading. And do visit me. I’d like to chat.
My hubby is a talker too and when he gets going, forget reading. I had to drag myself up out of book I was deeply buried in last night, while he talked about an epiphany with one of his electronic projects. You’re doing great with your reading – glad to see your more than halfway to your goal. Enjoy!
Congratulations on the increased level of books you have been able to read so far this year. That’s good progress!
Well done.
Sassy
Never try to read Jane Austen when you’re tired. I love her but she’s a wordy gal and things don’t always move too quickly. You’ll be ready to go to sleep 5 mins after you start.
