Teaser Tuesdays (July 21)

July 21, 2009

teasertuesdays31 Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

sacredcipher_brennanMy Teasers:

“Bohannon whispered loudly in Rodriguez’s direction. ‘Perhaps the Louvre should apply the DaVinci Code to this [text]. Maybe that would solve the puzzle.’”

~ p.42, “The Sacred Cipher” by Terry Brennan

[*one word changed to avoid giving too much away; Also, I had to give 3 sentences to have this make sense, this week. ;) ]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

  1. Makes me wonder how many books reference other books by their titles. Guess you’ve achieved ubiquity if that happens.

  40. From the Mother-In-Law Rules by Sally Shields, page 76:

“Don’t ever, no matter how much you are tempted, complain about your MIL to your husband. This is a conversation you will certainly regret.”

    Wise words indeed.

  41. Nice use of bracket substitution. It’s one of my favorite things to do for some reason.

“Bright colors, Vasher thought. I’ll have to get used to those again. In any other nation, the vibrant blues and yellows would have been ridiculous on soldiers. This, however, was Hallandren: land of Returned gods, Lifeless servants, BioChromatic research, and – of course – color.”
