The Sunday Salon (Aug. 30)
This past week, I finished two books: “Hope Unleashed” (Andy Hawthorne) and “The King’s Legacy” (Jim Stovall). Both were good reads. But, now I’m having a hard time getting into the next book.

I’ve chosen to keep on with the review books, so next up was “Never the Bride” by Cheryl McKay & Rene Gutteridge. It’s cute, but I’m not really in the mood for “cute”, ya know? Unfortunately, I have only a week before the book’s tour will come up, so I need to finish it. And, I’m going to do my darndest!

After that, I’ll have some “free time” to read without deadlines, and I thoroughly intend to get back to Christopher Pike’s “Thirst (vol.1)“, which I’m half-way through. Then I’ll probably dig into a library book or two… I have a couple that should be in right shortly: Jen Lancaster’s “Such a Pretty Fat“, and “Bloom” by Elizabeth Scott. I also brought home, recently, “The Amulet of Samarkand” by Jonathan Stroud, as it’s on my Raved Reads challenge list.
So, I’ve got lots to read in the next little bit. Of course, this doesn’t even include the other review books that will surely arrive in the mail. But, you’ll hear of those in another edition of “The Sunday Salon“, I’m sure.

Oooo, I am such a fan of The Bartimaeus Trilogy. Happy reading!
I think its awesome that you do the review books. I’m not sure how good I’d be at reading on a deadline (although I really want to try).
Good luck with all the reading and reviewing that you have ahead of you.
