Teaser Tuesdays (Sept.8)

September 8, 2009

teasertuesdays31 Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

regretfreeliving_stephenarterburn_LTcomMy Teasers:

“I was in a large room with three other patients, each of whom was suffering from advanced emphysema. Halfway through my second day one of the men began to cough vigorously.”

~ p.61-62, “Regret-Free Living” by Stephen Arterburn

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

((remember, the link for the comments is at the TOP of this post!))

  38. Good one. Mine is here.

    • Bonnie, I had trouble on your site. When it loaded, there may be a virus as it loaded more than 17 different pages of your teaser and each time I tried to close one, it opened more.
      :) Wendi

      • Wendi, Thanks for letting me know. I just tried it and it worked ok so I don’t know.

  39. I don’t think regret is necessarily a bad thing. Actually, it seems like a lot of people could use a solid dose of it occasionally.

I’m going with a double teaser day here

  40. Hi was over at Sherries Books when I saw a link to your site.

“It was only part rage, though, that enabled her to keep him at a distance.”

My teaser this week is taken from the hilarious book Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging. (Click on my name) I couldn’t just pick one!

Oh and by the way – love the teaser. My friend is currently reading this. I don’t know what she thinks as of yet. Will have to check your thoughts!

  61. Found your Teaser Tuesday link at bookworminginthe21stcentury.com. I don’t blog yet and love it when people comment on the book they’re “teasing” from before adding the link. Mine is from The Chimera’s Curse by Julia Golding (book 4 in the companions quartet which I gobbled up.)

“I thought there was no harm in being prepared. I’ve met him three times already-I can’t believe he’s going to leave me along now.” “No, he will not. But that is very different from seeking him out, as you well know.”

  68. Hmm, your teaser leaves me intrigued.

Here’s mine, from playwright Neil Simon’s excellent memoir, Rewrites: “Some plays come easily, some take time, and some feel as though you’re pushing Noah’s Ark, after the flood, up Mount Ararat, animals included. This time the first act came easily.” p. 152
