Musing Mondays (Sept.27)
This week, Rebecca asks:
Do you keep a book wishlist, either on paper, Amazon/etc, or via a book database site (Shelfari, GoodReads, LibraryThing)? If yes, do you share this list with others (especially coming up to Christmas)?
I do keep book wishlists, and they’re all over the place! (I have several
) One is on my other blog, one is on LibraryThing.com, and then there’s my Chapters.ca wishlist (but that one is very similar to the one on LibraryThing, as I’ve just copied them over).
I also keep a paper list, but that isn’t nearly as easy to update as the ones I keep on my blogs.
I sometimes share my book wishlists with family (another bonus of having them on a blog ~ I can just send the link!), but not often. My family is one of those that thinks I already have “too many books” (whatever THAT is! Pfft!). And, my friends –if they’re going to buy me books– just like to guess at what I might like, instead of going from a list.
Now, of course I don’t mind when people just guess! That’s fun, too! But, I also think that one of the greatest gifts I could ever get would be a pile of books, chosen from my wishlist, wrapped up, and then tied with a bow… kinda like this:

That would be my most favorite present!
Of course, gift cards to Chapters are always appreciated, too.
And, guess what? They sell them where I work!
(hee hee hee…)
So yeah… I love keeping book wishlists… and I love getting books (or bookstore gift cards) as gifts.

I keep a wishlist in my journal. However, I do let my family know what books I want!

I so agree with you…my favorite gift would also be a “pile of books, chosen from my wishlist, wrapped up, and then tied with a bow.”
Love your picture of your gift wrapped books. To get your wishlist all wrapped up like that…man, that would be heaven
Here’s my Monday Musing
Can one have too mant books? I think not!
Hi MizB. I don’t have any wishlists. Here is mine
Mine is here http://vampira2468.wordpress.com/
I do keep a list, several in fact, which has made it difficult to keep track of it all.
When I have the option/opportunity, I do ask for books. Last year I was even lucky enough to get a few off my TBR list.
My Musing Post is HERE
I keep a database now with my Kindle books I want.
I keep several lists, one for my school library and one or personal and both are extensive!!
Fantastic teaser! Another book to add to my ever growing TBRL. Mine is here: http://rundpinne.blogspot.com/2009/09/puzzle-king-teaser-tuesdays.html

Is it too early to start giving hubby hints for Christmas presents?
I’m absolutely the same. I love keeping lists. I don’t always buy books or get books according to my list, but it’s great to have a list so that I don’t forget about books that I see on blogs or in magazines or on TV or wherever.
