Musing Mondays (Nov.30)
This week, Rebecca asks:
How does your reading (or your blogging) fare in the holiday months? Do you read more or less? Do you have to actively make time to read?
My reading really takes a hit during the holidays… from about now through the end of December, I find that it’s very hard to concentrate and stay focused on any books. Therefore, this year I’ve been smart, and I’ve put a hold on all of my reviewing… I can’t get anything finished, and if I do, it’s a miracle. I have just one book to review, and it’s due the end of this week, so that one shouldn’t be an issue. 
My blogging, on the other hand, doesn’t really get affected at all. My morning email/blogging habit is firmly ingrained. If anything, my posts might show up later in the mornings, but otherwise, nothing changes there. I even get on on Christmas morning, usually — after the gifts are opened, of course.
Last year, I think I only read one book in all of December. This year, I don’t expect it to be much better. Though, I should be getting the second installment in the Sookie Stackhouse series from the library any day now, so I’m hoping I can at least read & finish that one.
Seems to be (more or less) the standard answer across the board for all of us.

I never get much reading done through the holidays.
my reading is one of the few things that keeps the overwhelming stress of all my uncompleted tasks at bay this time of year.
so read I must!
I’m impressed by those who hold onto their reading time at this time of year and I love a ‘firmly ingrained blogging routine’ that includes Christmas morning – amazing! I have a cunning plan to get such a routine…wish me luck!
Well, I’m making more of an effort this year for my reading! I’ve only been blogging for a year now and last year I was very, very preggo. So right now my blogging is taking a bit of a hit since I’m in school, have a son, and am trying to get all my reading and holiday broo ha’s in!
