Did you know…?

March 26, 2010

…that you can read a sample of a good number of books via Google Books?

Often times, I’ll find a book on Amazon‘s website that I really want to read, but my local library doesn’t have a copy, and I can’t afford to purchase the book, myself (at least, not at that time). So, I’ll go have a look at Google Books, and see if I can read a bit there! They don’t always have a preview of the books I want, but sometimes they have a couple of chapters — and to me, that’s WAY cool! Sure, it’s a HUGE tease, but I’m still grateful for the opportunity to read at least that much. ;) It gives me the chance to decide, for sure, whether or not I want to add the book to my “must purchase later” list, or not. :D

Check it out!

  1. I did know that! I love GoogleBooks…saves me some time when I’m doing research for papers or when my library doesn’t have a particular book and I’m not sure I want the headache of loaning via interlibrary. Go Google! :)

  2. Thanks for the tip :)

  3. I’ll have to check it out.

  4. Thanks for telling us.

  5. I didn’t know that. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks

  6. That’s something I really need to be doing. I still can’t get my head around RSS. But I know it’ll be like Twitter – once I do, I will become obsessed.

  7. I had heard about it, but hadn’t checked it out. All I can say is wow! Will be using it now. Thanks.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
