BTT: Bedside

May 27, 2010

((BTT is hosted at http://btt2.wordpress.com))

This week’s question asks:

What books do you have next to your bed right now? How about other places in the house? What are you reading?

On the shelf near my bed (my To-Be-Read shelf), I have a pile of review books (left side of bookend), as well as a few library books.

The review books include (starting from the pink spine):

  • Hurricanes in Paradise” by Denise Hildreth
  • Sing” by Lisa T. Bergren
  • Real World Parents” by Mark Matlock
  • Fatal Loyalty” by Sue Duffy
  • Reborn to Be Wild” by Ed Underwood

The library books include:

  • Jesus” by Marcus J. Borg ((currently reading – just started this morning))
  • Wiped: Life with a Pint-Sized Dictator” by Rebecca Eckler
  • Kingdom” by Tom Martin

The others (far left) are just books I hope to get to in the near future: “Double Trouble” by Susan May Warren, “The Frazzled Female” (Bible study) by Cindi Wood, “So You Don’t Want to Go to Church Any More” by Wayne Jacobsen, “Chosen” by Ginger Garrett, “The Eden Diet” by Rita Hancock, M.D. (to re-read), and “The Eden Diet Workbook” by Rita Hancock.

And, for a listing of other books around my house, you’d just have to view my whole collection — most of them are still TBR anyway! LOL.

  1. I’ve got a “to be read” shelf, too. It’s awfully full. I’ve been trying not to buy new books until I catch up some on what I’ve already got around the house to read. It’s hard!

    • That’s like me and review books — I’m trying not to request/accept any more, so that I can get to the ones I’ve got. But it’s sooooo hard! :P

  2. My bedside has a shelf, too, but I keep the library books stacked flat on top to avoid mixing them in.

    • Hence why I have bookends separating my library books from the books I own (review books included). ;)

  3. No bedside table for me but I do have one book under my bed.

  4. I love that you have an actual shelf there dedicated to TBR books!

My post is here. Fair warning, my piles have gotten a bit crazy. (Okay, maybe more than a bit.)

  5. Actually I keep all my TBR books in my lounge. I have found when I put the pile near my bed, I get quite stressed and just end up flicking through them all without reading any!
So I only keep by my bed the book I am reading at that moment which at the moment is One Day-David Nicholls (this book is taking me quite a long time to read. I am half way through so don’t really want to give up).

  6. This is WEIRD. A couple of days ago I took a picture of the books near my bed to test my new camera….

My “to read” books are kept in a laundry basket near my bed. (Currently: Elizabeth, by Alison Weir; A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens; and Death in Winter, by Michael Jan Friedman.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
