BTT: Podcasts
This week’s question asks:
Do you ever listen to book-related podcasts? If so, which ones and why? (Include the URLs for people who aren’t familiar with them.)
Or, of course, there’s the flip side … did you even know that such a thing existed?
I have tried a couple of podcasts (a couple of years ago, so I don’t recall what they were), but they just don’t interest me as much as listening to an actual book does. There might be a point, here & there, that catches my interest, but for the most part, they just don’t appeal to me.
Maybe if there are some out there that are like the book-related e-newsletters I read — giving me new book titles, with descriptions of the books, and reviews — then I’d like them more (feel free to recommend some, if you know of any!). But, the types I listened to in the past weren’t my thing.

Have you tried Dragon Page Cover to Cover?
Never heard of it, so thanks — I’ll look it up!
I’m just don’t understand a lot of the techie thingys, so I’m still a page turner.
Have you tried “Books on the Nightstand”? I think they are very much like a newsletter – they feature a wide variety of books, some more in-depth than others, they put out a new show every week, and each show is only about 15 minutes long. You should give them a try!

I’d recommend trying one from about a month ago or so – the recent ones aren’t good examples of what they are usually like because they’ve been doing some special features for the summer.
Do they have an e-version of this podcast? ‘Cause I’m almost positive I’ve subscribed to that feed via Bloglines. The name sounds really familiar, despite my not listening to any podcasts.
They do have a blog with the same name – it summarizes what they talk about on the show.
But there is also a monthly feature on another blog (5 Minutes for Books) called “What’s on your nightstand?” – you could be thinking of that as well …
You have won an award on my site It’s Time to Read. The award is: – the Versatile Blogger
Do come and get it!
While I don’t listen to explicitly book-centered pocasts, I do pick up book recommendations from Point of Inquiry, Speaking of Faith, This American Life, and The Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe. They often have authors on to interview.
The Good Daughters by Joyce Maynard
The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue
The Cathedral of the Sea by Ildelfonso Falcones
The Clouds Beneath the Sun by Mackenzie Ford
Juliet by Anne Fortier
Those are few I have read recently…Juliet was outstanding…reviews are posted on my blog for all but The Good Daughters..I am still reading that.
OOPS…I put my post in the wrong question..Sorry.
