Musing Mondays (Sept.13)
Where do you buy / get most of your books?
Right now, because I can’t afford to buy a lot of my books, I rely very heavily on the reviewing I do for new-to-me books. (But, I don’t review just so I can get free books, obviously — I review because I love to read and to share my opinion with others).
I also get a lot of (used) books from second-hand stores.
And, there’s the once-a-year Library Book Sales, where I usually bring home about 40 books, having spent only $5-$8.
((that’s coming up soon, too — it’s held in October!))
Occasionally, I will still purchase new books. And, when I do, it’s more than likely going to be from either Chapters.ca or Amazon.ca. I buy online because I don’t often have a chance to go to the actual brick-and-mortar store. Once in a blue moon, I’ll also get a few from Bookcloseouts.ca.
How about you?
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a bl0g). Thanks!

Lately I’ve been ordering new books from the Book Depository due the cheap prices and free postage, but when I dont have the money handy, OR if I have other books I want to read more, I’ll search out an RABCK or Bookring/ray at BookCrossing, which is also a great way to read a whole heap of reviews.

I keep hearing about the Book Depository…I must search this one out!

It’s hard not to order from BD Sorcha. With the discounts on new releases I find it almost impossible. Here is my Monday Musing.

I’m all over the place when it comes to book buying, but here are two new places I’ve recently discovered.
It’s sad that many of my favourite used book stores have folded, but fortunately, SHE SAID BOOM ( http://www.shesaidboom.ca/) is still in business. I love browsing the shelves on Sunday afternoons….
I love it that so many people are buying books at the library sales. We have monthly library sales, plus a library sale that happens twice a year where you can fill up a bag (they provide paper grocery sacks, or you can bring your own) and get the bag for just $3. Last time I went to that sale, I think I left with about a dozen books for only $3. The only downside is how incredibly crowded the sales are (which is a good thing, but it makes it harder to browse).

Yeah, I hear you about the “crowded” part! Our sales are nuts! But, I still love them!

Mine is up. I usually go to bookstores. Indies.
Most of my reading comes from my libraries (both public and university), though when I can I buy used copies from Amazon and eBay.
