Musing Mondays (Sept.20)

September 20, 2010

This week’s musing asks…

What makes you love / hate a character in a book?

I love a character that is real, someone that I feel I can relate to, one who doesn’t act snooty and all better-than-thou.

I hate a character that feels they can lord it over others, has a huge ego, is whiny, or feels very superficial.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

  1. Great question. I think we all pretty much agree we want real characters and not snobs. Kind of like real life. ha! ha!

  5. It could a lot of different things. It could be the way they act, treat their friends, how they do certain things. But one example would be Rose from the Vampire Academy series. I didn’t like her in the last book because she came off as selfish and reckless. She was hurting people and putting others lives in danger just so she could have a fairy tale ending in her life. I mean I understand she’s heartbroken but she’s gonna have to accept the fact that Dimitri is different and things happen for a reason.

  6. First time I’ve done a Musing Mondays post! Here: http://atapestryofwords.blogspot.com/2010/09/musing-mondays-1.html

  7. Great question this week! Here’s my answer.

  8. I suppose I just don’t like unbalanced characters.

  9. What is good and what is bad?
    My musing is up.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
