The Sunday Salon (Sept.26)
I’ve been in a sort of reading slump, lately. I’ve had a hard time figuring out what I’m in the mood for, even though I have tons of books to choose from. I finished two books, yesterday, and that was great. But, now I’m stuck again. I’ve picked up Andre Agassi’s autobiography, “Open“, and am hoping it will hold my attention. Otherwise, I’ll have to set it aside, and come
back to it, later.
I think part of my slump has to be due to the fact that I’ve been doing more introspection, and such, regarding my health, lately. Instead of reading, I’ve been doing a lot of writing, trying to figure out what I can do to “fix up” my life… mostly, just get healthier, figure out what path I want to take (career-wise), and enjoy my days more. I guess that book I read, earlier this month (“One Month to Live” by Kerry & Chris Shook) really did get to me! LOL. I’m still thinking along the lines of, “What should I really be doing with my days to make sure I get the most out of them?“
I created a new 2011 challenge, this past week… it’s not necessarily a reading challenge, but a challenge to make sure I’m doing all that I can to “live life to the fullest” (click here if you want to read more about it). This whole year, God has been bringing John 10:10 back to my attention, over and over and over again (I’m telling you, it shows up EVERYWHERE!!!). So, the whole concept of “Live Life to the Fullest” has been on my mind since January… and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. My list of changes is here, if you’re interested… I may revise it, though, after a few months. I’m not entirely happy with everything I’ve put on there, so far, but
it’s a start.
Back to books… I was really hoping that my copy of “Escaping the Vampire” by Kimberly Powers would show up, this past week, but it’s still not here. It’s coming to me from the publisher, David C. Cook. I am also looking forward to my LibraryThing.com “Early Reviewers” book, “Dare to Drop the Pose” by Craig Groeschel.
I said, earlier, that I have a ton of books to choose from… Currently, I have about 9 books home from the local library.
Some of those are: “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners” (awesome book! I’ve asked for a copy for Christmas!), “The Crimson Rooms” by Katharine McMahon (found while browsing in Chapters, this past week), and “Glass Houses” by Rachel Caine.

I hope your slump ends soon! I know I have been there many times
) I am a runner so I will have to check out that Chicken Soup for the Soul book!
I like Agassi a lot and his biography would be interesting. I hope you have everything sorted out soon in your life, my very best wish for good health, wisdom and blessing.
