The Sunday Salon (Oct.31)
This week I got some reading done, but not a lot. Still a lack of focus due to some stresses I’ve had going on in my life. But, either way, I’m making good progress on “Anna Karenina” by Leo Tolstoy. I’m just about half-way through this 923-page book!
I’ve found a couple of books, recently — thanks to visiting others’ blogs — that I really want to read! One of them, “The Practical Dreamer’s Handbook: Finding the Time, Money, and Energy to Live the Life You Want to Live” by Paul & Sarah Edwards, I know I’ll get to read, as my local library has agreed to interlibrary-loan a copy for me. It’s just a matter of waiting for it to come in. I found this one via the Writer’s First Aid blog.
The other book is one I found, yesterday, at Scatterbox Books, and is called “The Renaissance Soul: Life Design for People with Too Many Passions to Pick Just One!” by Margaret Lobenstine. This book has a quiz inside to help you see whether or not you, too, are a “Renaissance Soul“. I knew, without even having to take the quiz — just by reading Tina’s review, and by the title, itself – that I was one, but I took the quiz anyway (via the author’s website), and sure enough, I am!
I’ve asked my local library to order a copy, so I’m just waiting to see whether or not they’ll either buy a copy, or get me one via Interlibrary Loan. I’d take either option.
I really can’t believe we’re already heading into November. This year has really flown by!
I’m enjoying my break from reviewing. Much as I love reviewing and doing blog tours, it’s also nice to have relief from the constant need to be reading a review book in order to meet a deadline. It’s nice to know I can take my time with “Anna Karenina“, and that I can read the library books I’m waiting for as they come in. No pressure.
