BTT: Thankful
This week’s BTT question asks:
Since it’s Thanksgiving in the U.S.A… What authors and books are you most thankful for?
I probably have several that I could say I’m thankful for…
First off would be Judy & Arthur Halliday, and their book, “Thin Within: A Grace-Oriented Approach to Lasting Weight Loss“. This book revolutionized the way I view weight loss, and I will not ever go back to the old way of doing things. Even though I’m not consistently using this method now, I still believe in it wholeheartedly. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me in the past, and so I know it will do so again, when I’m ready to commit to it.
Then there’s a set of authors I’m grateful for: Rob Bell, Erwin R. McManus, Steve Brown, Ed Gungor, and Jason T. Berggren. All of these authors write “out-of-the-box” compared to the usual “evangelical Christian” nonfiction. They aren’t afraid to tell it like it really is. And, I’ve appreciated that. It’s really given me hope.
And, probably not last is Beth Moore. Her teachings (my church ladies’ Bible study group has studied many of Beth’s books) have really transformed the way I read the Bible. I will forever be grateful to Beth for giving me more of a passion for my faith, and for teaching me to really see the Bible as not just some old history book full of rules — instead, it’s full of amazing links and revelations. Beth makes it make more sense! LOL.

For me its not about what books and authors I am thankful for. It’s more of being thankful for having books at all and being thankful for the variety of books there are. Some countries don’t have books and/or have a lack of books. I’m thank for there being buildings where I can borrow/buy books whenever I want.
That’s a good thing to be thankful for, too! Thanks for sharing!
