A few goodbyes…

It’s time to say “goodbye” to a few of the memes I host, weekly. I’m doing this now, instead of at the end of the year ’cause December is crazy-time for me. I know a lot of you are going to be disappointed, and for that I’m sorry… but I need to do this for my sanity.

Of course, I do tend to be a little silly somtimes, so that’s why I’m not passing these memes on to anyone else (not looking for volunteers to take them over), and am instead just shutting them down — my crazy self may decide (in a month or two) to come and pull them back out of hiding. If I decide that I miss them too much, I’ll go back to hosting them. LOL. So, you’ll just have to be patient and see.

So, the memes…

I am giving up the following weekly memes… BUT… I am also offering you alternatives! I didn’t want to just leave you all hanging, so I’ve been thinking on it, and looking around, and I think I’ve come up with some good ideas.

MUSING MONDAYS ~ If you like musing about bookish things, you’ll also love the weekly Thursday meme, Booking Through Thursday, hosted at http://btt2.wordpress.com . It’s the same idea, just on a different day! And, there are tons of really interesting questions — better than I could come up with, most times.

NEW BEGINNINGS WEDNESDAYS ~ Yes, I know… this is supposed to last the whole year as it’s about resolutions. But, I get really preoccupied in December, every year, so I just won’t be feeling up to updating this one any more. And, I don’t care to continue it in 2011, as I have other ideas — like my “LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST” Challenge! You can join me in that, if you want! It’s already begun (started on October 1st), but it doesn’t hurt to jump in now — it goes until Dec.31, 2011! Thank you to those who supported me throughout 2010 in my Resolutions!

WWW WEDNESDAYS ~ I love this meme, but I just don’t necessarily want to participate in it every week. Fortunately, there is an alternative! Sheila, at One Person’s Journey Through A World of Books, hosts the weekly Monday meme, “It’s Monday: What Are You Reading?“. Same thing, really, as WWW Wednesdays, so you’ll not have to completely give this up — and neither will I! (I plan to participate in this alternate meme once in a while).

So you see, you now have something to fill up your Monday slot (instead of Musing Mondays, you’ve got “It’s Monday: What Are You Reading?“). But, if you still need something for Wednesdays, I have a couple of other suggestions for you:

:: Why not give Marcia’s “Cover Attraction” meme a try? If you’re a book-cover junkie like me, this is the meme for you! Each week you showcase a book cover that really caught your eye.

:: Or, if you frequently visit your local library, you could do Alessandra’s & Eva’s “Library Loot” meme, where you tell everyone what books you’ve brought home from the library, recently.

:: And, if those aren’t your style, you could always visit the A Novel Challenge blog and search through the listing of memes in the sidebar (all alphabetical, so you can look under “W” for some of the Wednesday memes).
