This week’s Booking Through Thursday question asks:

Even I read things other than books from time to time … like, Magazines! What magazines/journals do you read?

Yep, I love me some magazines! And, in fact, since we’ve been short on cash for a while, and I can’t get away with buying a bunch of books, I find I’ve started buying too many magazines… I buy at least 2 every month, and have 2 subscriptions! LOL

I’ve subscribed to “Good Housekeeping” magazine for over a year, now. I love the tips I get for my house (cleaning, organizing, etc) and kids (homework, travel, etc), and I find that I’m always finding at least one or two good, new recipes to try from each issue.

And, the kids recently had a fundraiser at school where you could get magazine subscriptions at discounted prices. So, I got one of my favorites: “Timber Home Living” magazine. I love, love, love dreaming of some day having my own timber-frame home! I love wood!

The ones I buy every month, from the store, are usually “Self” magazine, “Shape” magazine, and “Women’s Health” magazine… yes, I love the weight loss ones. I really get inspired by the success stories, and the pictures of the women all slim and toned really motivate me to change (I hate the way I look, right now).

So, yeah. I definitely read more than just books. Though, I’m not really into “journals” of any sort (other than the ones I write in, myself).

I also love magazines, by far my favourite is Mothering Magazine… my guilty (secret) pleasure is Hello Canada. I’m not typically a huge celebrity magazine kind of girl… but I always catch myself picking this one up.

I use to read a lot of the women’s magazines, including Good Housekeeping. But, now that I have more time to read I prefer Books.

I prefer books too. My mother always had tons of magazines in the house:McCall’s, Ladies Home Journal, Life, Look, etc. I did many school reports using those magazines.

  You guys may have misunderstood me… I still PREFER books! LOL. But, I read magazines, too. In between the books, or when I don’t have as much time to sneak in part of my current book.
