REVIEW: “The ME Project” by Kathi Lipp
Do you ever feel like you just don’t have time to pursue your dreams? Do you feel guilty for taking time to do something just for you? Do you constantly put off your dreams until “later”?
Well, this little book will help you change all of that!
Kathi has written a great go-to guide that helps jump-start you on your way to fulfilling your dreams. She gives you 21 days’ worth of ideas –baby steps– for making your dreams a reality now, instead of later. And, if your dream can’t really be pursued right now — because it costs more than you can spend, or requires things you can’t access — that’s okay, too… because Kathi encourages you to take the small steps that you can, now, in pursuing your dreams, regardless.
For example, say you have a goal of building your dream home. You can’t afford to build right now. But, what you can do is start reading magazines that are related to home-building and design to get ideas for what you like, and what you don’t like. You can make lists, you can talk to others you know who’ve already had their dream home(s) built. You can look at homes in your area via a real estate flyer and get ideas for what your dream home might cost you to build. You can research architects, etc. There are many little things you can do that don’t cost a lot of money, but will still take you closer to your goal.
Each “day” (chapter) has space for you to journal your ideas, and your plans for going after your goal. And, at the end of the book, there’s a “Tool Kit” with checklists to help you stay on track.
I really liked this book. Probably my favorite idea from the whole thing is the 50/50 journal — a special journal that you use to record all of your dreams and goals (even tiny ones, like getting your nails done professionally on a weekly basis!). You give each dream/goal 2-3 pages, and then you make note on those pages each time you take a step toward your goal. Such a cool idea!
I also loved Kathi’s sense of humor. When you’re reading this book, it’s like she’s sitting in the room with you, and the two of you are chatting.
I could really relate to a couple of the things she said — like list-making obsessions, for example.
She says she’s the type who, when crossing things off her to-do list, will even go so far as to add an item she’d completed to her list — even though it wasn’t on there in the first place — just so that she can put a checkmark beside it! LOL. I am so totally the exact same way!
Definitely get yourself a copy of this book, if you’re feeling like you never have the time to go after your goals. This book is a great kick-start, and will be a wonderful resource for you.
Recommended.

Now this sounds like one I could use.
How timely of you to do this review. This really hits home with me. I’m at that turning point of “what happened to my dreams and goals?” in life. Thanks for sharing this. It’s already downloaded to my Kindle. =)
Awesome.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
PS… I’ve listed my own goals on a separate blog, if you wanna see them (they’re not all there, but I’ve at least gotten started).
Hey Jenn – So glad you enjoyed THE ME PROJECT. It sounds as if we share some similar obsessions. Blessings on you – and your blog!
