REVIEW: “Lazarus Awakening” by Joanna Weaver
Ms. Weaver unpacks the biblical story of Lazarus and how Jesus raised him from the dead. In doing so, she shows us several points of interest.
First, God’s timing is different from our own, and we need to accept that if we’re to have a deeper relationship with Him.
Second, God speaks to us, but we’ll only get good at recognizing His voice if we spend time in relationship with Him.
Third, Jesus longs to set us free from mediocre living, and give us an abundant life. But, we need to surrender our hang-ups and habits to Him in order to move into that new life.
There was much more, but I think my favorite part was where Joanna said that we need to relax ~ to just let Jesus love us. We need to stop trying so hard, and just let go; choose to believe that we are loved. Tell ourselves daily, until we believe it wholeheartedly, that God loves us ~ unconditionally.
Good book. I’ll probably be re-reading this one at some point in the future, as I have a feeling I’ll need to.
Recommended.
Rated: B+
PS… I LOVED that there was a ~ surprise! ~ autographed bookplate from the author on the inside front-cover! How cool!
