REVIEW: “Made to Crave: DVD” by Lysa Terkeurst
Not long ago, I participated in a blog tour for Lysa Terkeurst’s new book set, “Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desires with God, Not Food“. Unfortunately, I had the book, but not the DVD.
Now, though, the DVD has arrived! And, I’ve watched several of the sessions.
First, let me tell you that I bought myself a copy of the Participant’s Guide (from Amazon.ca), not knowing that when I received the DVD for review, it’d come packaged with its own copy of the Participant’s Guide.
So, I’ve passed the second copy on to my Mom. I also have two copies of the “Made to Crave” book, as I’d already ordered a copy from Amazon before the chance to review the whole set came up. So, my Mom is also now reading the book — and we’re going to go through the DVD sessions together at a later date.
Anyway. I am totally loving this whole set! The DVD has 6 sessions, each of which are only about 25 minutes long (if you include the “behind-the-scenes” chat Lysa does at the beginning of each one, to kind of prep you for the session). I love Lysa’s humor, and her honesty. And, I’m finding that I’m really remembering what I’ve learned through watching the DVD sessions, too — it’s sticking with me as I go about my days.
The Participant’s Guide is amazing! Not only does it have space for you to journal about what you’ve learned while watching the DVD sessions, but it also gives you 5 days’ worth of studies, each week (for the 6 weeks that you are using the DVDs — one session per week). So you’re totally able to immerse yourself in the teaching, and in the Word of God, and really make this applicable to your life!
The studies don’t take long to complete, either. I’m finding that I can watch a session during my lunchhour break from work… and then I complete the workbook part (the in-depth study) later on.
“Made to Crave” has been on the New York Times bestseller list for the past 5 weeks running… it really is that good! And, there’s a website where you can find more information, too: MadetoCrave.org . In fact, every Tuesday you can access the webcasts Lysa did to go along with the book.
Definitely check out the book, at the very least. You won’t be sorry.
