REVIEW: “Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life” by Jillian Michaels
Jillian has ventured away, in this book, from focusing solely on health & fitness. Here, she walks you through taking the necessary steps — physically, emotionally, etc — to build your best, most “exceptional”, life.
The book is split into three parts: Imagine, Believe, and Acheive.
In “Imagine“, she asks you to identify your passion, or what you want to do with your life. You let your imagination run wild and then be specific with clarifying what you want.
In “Believe“, Jillian helps you overcome the obstacles (mostly emotional and mental) that block your path to your best life. There are a lot of exercises for you to work through, and tips for changing your outlook.
Lastly, in “Acheive“, you get the tools to pull it all together, and start moving toward your goal. Learning, organization, mastering communication skills, and being more mindful are just some of the things you’ll learn about.
Overall, this is a really well-rounded, helpful book. I love Jillian’s “tough love” approach — she doesn’t pussyfoot around anything. Throughout the book, she reminds you that things are not going to be easy, and that you are still going to fail from time-to-time. But, she also encourages you that failures are necessary for learning and moving forward, and that struggles only make you stronger. It’s all about choice and perspective.
Recommended.
Rated: B+

In my life i am still stuck on imagine sometimes it never feels like I will get to the other too. Sounds like a inspiring though.
Oh, I am too, believe me! But, I’m starting to believe that the “acheive” stage will actually be possible for me.
This book certainly gives one hope!
I LOVE Jillian Michaels, she is so inspiring for me and has always been a big motivating factor to live healthy
I read Master Your Metabolism a few months ago, which is obviously about healthy eating mostly, but then again, it all ties in to being happy and loving your life too! Since then I have made an effort to eat organic whole foods, and I have definitely noticed a difference in how I feel overall. Thanks for the review! I will probably be reading this book at some point, Jillian just does it for me haha
