Musing Mondays (May 9)

May 9, 2011

This week’s musing asks…

Do you ever find scenes from previous books you’ve read popping into your head at random times? If so, does it bother you? If it doesn’t happen to you, why do you think that is?

Occasionally, I’ll be sitting around, doing whatever (like blogging about books! LOL), and a random scene from a book will pop into my head. This morning it was a scene from one of Lisa T. Berggren’s books, in which Moira (one of the characters) is conversing with another character in an old bar — it’s set in the mining days, so it’s a mining town, and I can picture the dress she’s wearing and the other patrons in the saloon. :)

I have this happen quite a bit, and it doesn’t bother me. Really, it just makes me think that that particular book must’ve been written really well for parts of it to stick with me so vividly. :D

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

  7. Hi MizB,

Interesting thought that I hadn’t really considered, but actually it does happen to me quite often.

It usually happens when I am just about to pick up a book I am in the middle of reading. Thoughts about a previous book pop unbidden into my head and just for a moment it causes confusion about what I am about to read.

The subconscious is a strange thing, isn’t it?

  8. No. I was quite confused by this as an idea! http://wp.me/p1t7Ho-bq

That happens to me quite a bit. I have one of those minds where something will happen that triggers a thought, then that will trigger another thought, and so on, and so on. I often end up thinking about movie/tv scenes, and even book scenes. Especially from books where the characters were well written.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
