REVIEW: “Beastly” by Alex Flinn

May 24, 2011

Kyle Kingsbury has always been good-looking. And, he’s been taught that, if you’re not, you aren’t worth much. Beauty means everything.

…and, he believes that, even after a witch casts a spell on him, turning him into a beast. He has 2 years to find someone to love, who’ll love him in return — regardless of his new “look” — or he’ll remain a beast forever.

This is a modern-day retelling of the classic tale, “Beauty and the Beast“. I really want to see the movie that’s just coming out next month, so I figured I’d read the book, first. And, I really enjoyed it!

Though, from the previews of the movie (the trailers), I know there are going to be some differences from the book. But, that’s okay. It was still a really good read, and I’m curious to read Ms. Flinn’s other books now, too! (“A Kiss In Time” and “Cloaked“).

Rated: B+

  1. The movie is already out on DVD. At least here it is.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
