Musing Mondays (May 30)
Describe the last time you were stumped for something to read, and you took measures to remedy that — either by going to the bookstore, the library, or shopping elsewhere. What book did you choose? Did it get you out of your slump?
I was having trouble getting into anything just last week. So, after going through several in my own collection (picking up, reading, putting down), I decided to browse the local library’s shelves.

I picked a random aisle, and started skimming. I pulled out anything with a spine that caught my eye, read the description, and held onto whatever sounded like something I would read — which ended up being only 2 books: “Mistress of Rome” by Kate Quinn, and “Burning Lamp” by Amanda Quick.
Sure enough, when I got home, I started in on “Mistress of Rome“, and it was just the thing I needed to pull me out of my reading slump.
I haven’t been able to put it down!
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

If I had a problem being stumped for something to read, which rarely happens I either go directly to the book store and pick one that speaks to me. Or, I pick up an Oprah, Real simple, or Martha Stuart Magazine and see what others recommend. I am currently reading Nicholas Sparks A bend in the road.
What a beautiful cover Mistress of Rome has!

Getting out of slump with or without a TBR stack is hard no matter what. I think we have to trick our minds into reading sometimes. lol

I don’t often get in a reading slump, but a visit to the bookstore, does a lot of good to lift my spirits anytime.

I’m in a “reading slump” at the moment! Though for a different reason then usual.I’m waiting for a book to be released.
I’ve picked up The lost symbol by Dan Brown for the moment.
Two episodes this past week!
My full post is up.
