REVIEW: “Does Change Have to be So HARD?” by Julie Donley, R.N.
Julie knows what it’s like to deal with hardships. She has created this acronym for “HARD” based on what she’s learned. “HARD” stands for Habits, Attachments, Resistance, and Discouragement. These are the things that make change difficult.
But, she doesn’t stop there. She also gives you 8 “strategies for success”. My favorite of these was where Julie talked about changing your mind, first, and not forcing the changes in your habits. You let your change in habits be a natural progression from the changing of your thoughts and beliefs.
I was a bit worried, in the beginning, by the mention of the “Law of Attraction” (Attractiveness). But, the book doesn’t go into depth about that — it’s brought up several times, but never with the whoo-hoo mystical stuff that’s in most books that deal with that topic.
I liked, too, that a lot of the book was focused on making things “easy”. Of course, with change, there will always be work involved. But, Julie seems to be saying not to make things harder than they need to be.
Recommended.
