REVIEW: “Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares” by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

July 1, 2011

I just found this book, online, the other day, and it sounded like something I was in the mood to read. Sure enough, the library had a copy, so I put it on hold, and started reading it as soon as I got it home! :D

I loved this story! Dash and Lily were great characters — though Lily drove me crazy, at times (she often acted younger than her age, so I kept forgetting how old she was supposed to really be).

I loved that this book was full of bookish things, too — The Strand (bookstore), mainly, but also bookish quotes and other things literary. Dash & Lily’s love of reading and words is the main thing that the story revolves around.

At first, I had no idea how the authors were going to make this story play out for a full 200+ pages. But, I was pleasantly surprised at all of the twists and turns. :D

And, the book read really quickly, too. I finished it in about a day (give or take a couple of hours). ;)

Definitely recommended.

  1. Ooh, sounds interesting!

  2. It was a great book.

If I could just let you know about one thing: it’s Levithan, not Leviathan. Leviathan is the big sea-monster :)

  3. I just added this to my TBR list!
