REVIEW: “Darke Academy #1: Secret Lives” by Gabriella Poole
Cassie Bell has been chosen to attend the prestigious ‘Darke Academy’, a school that changes cities every term. This term finds the school located in Paris, and Cassie is sure she’ll be kicked out, once they discover that this “scholarship girl” doesn’t fit in.
But, as luck would have it, Cassie fits in better than she’d hoped. With her new roommate, Isabella, making her feel more at home, Cassie slowly discovers that there’s more to this school than she first thought. And, the more she discovers, the more she finds that knowledge isn’t just power… it can be dangerous, too!
I found this book to be very slow-going in the first half. But, I pushed through, and I’m glad, because it really picked up by the end. And, I’m actually now very glad that I also bought the second book in the series, “Blood Ties“, as I really want to know what’s going to happen to Cassie and her new friends, next!
Recommended.
