Filled with playful, winsome illustrations by an artist who specializes in polar bear images, this four-color, read-to-me picture book will build children’s self-esteem through the tale of a mama bear who reassuringly explains where her cub came from and affirms Mama and Papa’s great love for her.

“Good night, sweet child,” Mama said as she tucked Little Cub in.

But Little Cub wasn’t quite ready to go to sleep.

“Mama, where did I come from?” she asked.

“From God,” her mother answered. “Your papa and I were alone, and we wanted
a baby.”

“And you got me?” Little Cub asked, her voice muffled by the covers.

“Yes, my special child. God gave us you.”

MY REVIEW: This cute little board book features a mama polar bear reading her cub a bedtime story. As her cub asks questions, the mama answers, and continually repeats, “God gave us you!”

They say it takes hearing/saying something fourteen times to have it memorized, so this repetition throughout the book is a good way for kids to remember that they exist because God wanted them to.

The artwork throughout the book is whimiscal and interesting. Very cute. ;)

Recommended.

  1. I love this book! I read it to my grandson, (he lives with me and his parents are in another state), as a way to keep him connected to his parents. It is one of his favorite books. He loves the pictures. So nice to meet Lisa and Laura.

  2. Thanks for the review! However, your info is on the hardcover version–would you mind trading it out for the board book version? ($6.99, 20 pgs etc) Appreciate it!

I am looking for the publisher information on this book, I have the “God Found us You” (hard cover)in my store and would like to add “God gave us you” As many of my customers have asked about it because of the “found” being about adoption . Can you pass this information on to me so that I can see about the wholesale company and adding it to my store? Thank you very much

  4. Hi, Carrie. You can order it from Random House/WaterBrook Press or any distributor. Thanks for thinking about carrying it!

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
