The Sunday Salon (July 31)
Another month gone by… wow. Can’t believe I’ve been at my new job for almost a month already!
My reading is definitely taking a hit. I was unable to finish reading Robert Masello’s “The Medusa Amulet” before the library deadline, yesterday, so I had to take it back unfinished.
I do plan to get it out again, later, so that I can finish it, as I was really enjoying it!
Mind you, taking that back enabled me to start into a new book ~ “Kiss of Night” by Debbie Viguie. It’s the first eBook I ordered from NetGalley! I just signed up for NetGalley, the other day, after receiving an email from a publicity contact with a list of books available for review. Some of them — including this one — were only available through NetGalley. And, since joining was free (and since I’d heard of soooo many other bloggers getting review books that way!), I thought, “What the heck“, and signed myself up!
I didn’t think I’d like reading eBooks for review… but it’s turning out to be not so bad. At least with this particular book. It’s so good that I’m having a hard time putting it down!
I also got “Beautiful Outlaw” by John Eldredge. And, I requested (but, have not yet been approved for) the following:
• “Cold Kiss” by Amy Garvey (HarperCollins)
• “Incognito” by Gregory Murphy (Penguin USA)
• “Not a Fan” by Kyle Idleman (Zondervan) ~ loved the video series of this!
• “Sticky Faith” by Dr. Kara E. Powell (Zondervan)
I’m thinking my eReader is now going to get a lot more use! LOL
The great thing is, too, that I’m already half-way through “Kiss of Night“! I couldn’t stop reading, yesterday! So, I’ll hopefully have it finished by tomorrow afternoon. Today, we’ve got my husband’s family reunion to go to, so I won’t have enough time to read.
As far as reviewing goes, I also put my name in, this week, to review “A Confident Heart” by Renee Swope (via Graf Martin Communications). It looks like it’ll be a good book. And, since I often struggle with confidence, it’s probably going to be an inspirational read for me, too!
Lastly, I’m still waiting for my copy of Susan May Warren’s latest, “Heiress“, to show up in the mail. It will have a blog tour at the end of August, and I’m really looking forward to reading it! I love Susan’s books, and this one looks like it won’t disappoint!
So, yeah — lots of reading to do. But, they all sound great, so I’m looking forward to it!
