REVIEW: “Always a Princess” by Alice Gaines

August 19, 2011

Eve Stanhope is impersonating a princess from Valdastock while stealing jewels from the English nobility. That is, all the way up until Philip Rosemont — Lord Wesley — calls her bluff.

It just so happens that Lord Wesley is the Orchid Thief — one who has already been stealing jewels from the English nobility. So, he knows a thief when he sees one. He and Eve then partner up to continue their scheming… but things heat up more than either of them expected!

I enjoyed this book a great deal. I’ve always loved Regencies set in England. This one started off a little weak, but then gathered steam, and I couldn’t put it down. A good mystery with enough twists to the story, and a decent romance. ;)

  1. OMG the cover! *swoon* I’m glad that you mentioned that the book starts off weak but gets better – sometimes it’s the other way around, and it makes for a not-good time. This sounds pretty intriguing – I can’t resist a book with 2 thieves, especially set in Regency England :)

    Thanks for the review!

  2. This sounds so fun. Definitely adding it to my list.

  3. Just discovered this review. Seems google alerts isn’t quite up to the job.

In any case, thank you so much.

Please be patient if your comment doesn't show up right away... I will 'release' it as soon as I can. Thanks for your thoughts! ~MizB
