The Sunday Salon (Sept.25)
And the craziness begins! This past week was nuts… I went shopping after work on Monday, with my mom, then worked late on Tuesday, then had 3 places to be on Wednesday night, and had to go to a doctor’s appointment on Thursday afternoon. Busy-busy!
But, the great thing about the week was that, after said doctor’s appointment, I got to browse in the brick-and-mortar bookstore, Indigo (a division of Chapters), for an hour-and-a-half!
Couldn’t buy anything, mind you, as I’d already spent my money at Amazon earlier in the week, but I wrote down a bunch of titles to come home and look up at the library — and the library has about half of them! Whoohooo!
That’s not even the greatest part, though! When I got home, just before I went looking up those books on the library’s website, I decided to check my email… and lo-and-behold, what do I find? The one book I’d “found” — “Forbidden” by Ted Dekker & Tosca Lee — was being offered up as a review book by FIRST Wild Card Tours! Yippee!!! {I know, I know… I said I wasn’t going to review more books. But, like I said, I was really excited about this one, ’cause I’d just found it at the bookstore — hadn’t heard of it before — and it sounded fabulous! I couldn’t resist!}
You’ll see the majority of the books that I found at Indigo listed in my next installment of “Friday Finds“. I did find about 20 books, though, so I may have to split my list over the course of the next two Fridays! LOL. Then again, I’ll show you some, now, as they’re ones I’m not overly enthralled with (they sound good, but not great), and I might never get around to reading them… we’ll see {…aren’t the covers on the first 3 gorgeous?!}:
• “Mistress of the Sun” by Sandra Gulland
• “Quiver” by Holly Luhning
• “The Villa Triste” by Lucretia Grindle
• “Girl Crazy” by Russell Smith
• “It Can Happen to You” by Lynn Crymble
• “Obliquity” by John Kay
Yesterday, I gave up on two review books for NetGalley… my last two that I had to finish for them. Kirsten Hubbard’s “Wanderlove” was too full of stream-of-consciousness writing for me, right now. I just didn’t have the patience. Rowan’s moodiness, and Bria’s tendency to ramble on and on and on was just driving me nutty! I was like, “Get to the point, already!” Mind you, I did like the bits where Bria talked about being an artist, as I’ve always had a leaning toward the arts, myself. I really wanted to like this book.
I also kept trying to access “Tris & Izzie” by Mette Ivy Harrison, but every time I did, my eReader would freeze, and I’d have to push the reset button to reboot it.
I didn’t want to keep doing that, so I checked whether or not the download was bad, and the book works fine in Adobe Digital Editions. But, I can’t read it on there, as I’ll get a headache. So, I just decided to forgo continuing to try, and I’ve decided I’ll read the book when it’s available in print (preferrably from my local library).

So, now I just have two review books left to get through, and both are from LibraryThing.com: “Shadows on the Sand” by Gayle Roper, and “When Bad Christians Happen to Good People” by Dave Burchett. I’m hoping to read at least most of one of them, today.
Edited to Add: I recently made up some new buttons for my Friday Finds event, and I’m curious to know which one you guys like best..?

I like button number four the best.
Thank you!
