Musing Mondays (Nov.14)
Are you currently collecting any authors? Why?
Do you have all of their books? If not, why not?
Did you buy all the books in the collection at the same time, or did you buy a book here, a book there? Have you actually read all of the collection? If not, why not?
I used to do this — collect books by certain authors. But, I don’t so much, any more. I just don’t tend to read from the same genre all at once, ’cause I’m a ‘mood’ reader.
In the past, I collected books by Christian Jacq, ’cause I loved his books that were set in Ancient Egypt. He writes very well, too. But then my interests changed, so I stopped reading those, and haven’t finished reading the series’ that I’d collected. I have his “Ramses” series (5 books), his “Stone of Light” series (4 books), and his “Queen of Freedom” trilogy.
I also collected most of Kathy Reich’s “Bone” series (character Temperance Brennan), but haven’t read more than book 1. I have about 8 of the books in the series, though, and do still hope to get to the rest, some day.
I still tend to collect books by author Gaelen Foley, ’cause I still love to read her books (romances set in Regency England). But, I don’t read those as often as I used to, either. Doesn’t stop me from buying the books, though — I love Gaelen’s writing. I have all but maybe 3 of the books she’s written.
I also have a bunch of Anne Perry mysteries hanging around… I was given them in a box of books. I’ve listened to one (audiobook) from the library, and it was good, so that’s why I kept the books that I was given with hopes of reading them, eventually.
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

I collect Stephanie Barron, Carolyn Hart, Agatha Christie, Carrie Bebris.

If I enjoy two books by an author I find in the library I will go out & buy all of the books if I think I will reread them. It’s been awhile since I found an author I liked with more than a couple books out though. I think the most recent was the St Just mystery series by GM Mailliet, which I think was 4 books. I got both books by Debra Coontz also, but only two books really isn’t collecting, though I’ll be buying her new ones as they come out. Before that it was last year & I got all the Daisy Dalrymple books by Carola Dunn. Mostly at this point I have all the books by my favorite authors because I have been reading them for years

Sarah Dessen and Stephanie Meyer was my first collection from an author. Here’s my Musing Monday
I’ve seen the TV show Bones before. It’s one of my favorites. I didn’t realize it was a book series!
My answer to this week’s questions can be found here.
I have a few series collections where I haven’t read all the books … I’m working on them! But sometimes it’s nice to have the complete series so that I can read them all in succesion.

I recently stumbled upon Chuck Palahniuk. I’ve only read Invisible Monsters and a little bit of Rant, but instantly wanted to collect more of his work. Luckily, I share a bookcase with my boyfriend, and he was his entire collection.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!—This is really timely for me, I’ve been thinking about what I love about certain authors, why they resonate they way they do–I just discovered a new author (to me) and I’ve spent the last month devouring his books.
*******
I haven’t read the Bones books yet–but I love the tv series, so I’ve been wanting to pick them up and try them out!!!
Thanks again for the awesome Musing!!!!
