REVIEW: “The Non-Designer’s Design Book” by Robin Williams
This is a great book for beginners wanting to know more about design and typography. The book takes you through things like the color wheel and layouts, and how to do up brochures, newsletters, business cards, etc. Each chapter is focused on a different basic element of design: Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity.
It then gives a whole section on the different categories of typefaces and how to recognize each one, and how to use them together to create better, more professional-looking work.
I really enjoyed this book, and am thinking of purchasing myself a copy to reference back to when I need it (I read a copy from the local library). I really learned a lot, and have already started trying out the things that it taught me … and have found it’s already greatly improved my skills!
Definitely recommended for anyone interested in graphic design!

Glad that you were able to learn a lot from it. I have been waiting to see when you posted your review on it. I think I will definitely have to check this book out.
I have this book! I really enjoyed it, too. I thought it was easy to understand and really helped me out a lot. Though, I just do graphic design stuff for fun and really haven’t done anything in a while! Good review.
