REVIEW: “The Dragonfly Effect” by Jennifer Aaker & Andy Smith

December 12, 2011

With the explosion of social media — Twitter, Facebook, blogging, email, etc. — comes a greater opportunity to do good. And, that’s what this book is for.

Jennifer Aaker & Andy Smith provide many examples of companies — for profit & non-profit — that have used social media sources to grow, and to give back. In this book, they give you a template — based on the four wings of a dragonfly — to effect change (for the better) via using this popular and ever-growing outlet.

The four wings include: Focus, Grab Attention, Engage, and Take Action.

I found the stories inside very fascinating. And, I especially liked that I found out about many causes — like Kiva — that I’d never heard about, before! I definitely intend to look into them further.

Overall, this is an interesting read, and I’d recommend it.
