God-Sized Dreams: Hey, Buddy!

This week, with the God-Sized Dream gals, Holley is asking us to partner-up — grab a buddy to encourage, and be encouraged by — and then to share who we chose, and why.

Well, in our Facebook group, I asked for a buddy, and I got Wendy… and, as luck God would have it, she got me, too!

Wendy is a married mother of three boys, and she has a heart for children, and for missions. I am looking forward to getting to know her better as she and I travel this God-Sized Dreams journey together as “buddies” who can be an encouragement to others.

I have to admit, though, that I am struggling with this one… but only because I’ve always been fiercely independent. I have tried, in the past, to partner up with other gals to have accountability in this or that area. And, it never seems to work out for me. I prefer — usually — to go it alone, feeling that “I can do it just fine, thank you very much”. But, as a quote Holley shared from Drs. Henry Cloud & John Townsend said, “…God built dependency into all of us… Even God is out for relationships.” Even God wants to partner up with people… So, who am I to refuse? As His follower, I am to be ever-becoming more like Him. And, that means I need to let go of my independent streak, and start walking alongside of others, as God calls me to do.

So, there you go. I am going to press through the discomfort, and learn to be accountable to others. Starting with my GSDT buddy, Wendy!
