The Sunday Salon (Jan.27)
I love my computer, but sometimes, it can be a real distraction! LOL. I have been on my computer far too much, lately, and as such, I haven’t finished –or read, for that matter– any books. I finally got a copy of “Quitter” by Jon Acuff from the library — they inter-library loaned a copy for me — and I started it, but got distracted by the computer and set it aside for now. Luckily, I have ’til March with it, if you can believe that! I was shocked … in a good way!
I forced myself, yesterday, to shut the computer off for a bit, and read. So, now I can say that I’ve started reading “Vanished” by Irene Hannon. It’s a review book, and the review is due by the end of this week, so I must finish it! I’m going to do the same today, and shut off the computer for several hours to get in some reading.
If you’re a frequent visitor, here at Should Be Reading, you may recall that back in December, I went to my hubby’s Christmas party, but was bummed to have gotten a headache, and not get in the dancing that I’d gone to the party looking forward to. Well, last night, I totally made up for that! LOL.
A local band was playing for a community event nearby, and since there was to be dancing and a bunch of my friends were going to be there, I went. And, oh-my-word, I had a blast! Danced for 3 hours straight, and am feelin’ it today! But, totally worth it. I also got to hang with some people I’d not seen in about 16 years, so that was awesome, too! Saw lots of friends that I’d not seen in forever, got caught up on their lives, and spent some time with some good friends that I love but don’t get enough time with, normally. Fabulous night.
Lastly, I’m still jobless. I have applied to a couple of places, so we’ll see if anything comes of that. I am going to need to find something soon, as the money is running out. I’m trying to save up for an iPod Touch, too (5th gen.) — have been since Christmas — and it’s hard to do that when you’re pinching pennies. LOL Really, I’m only about 2 months away from being able to get it. I hope to get the red one, but if I can’t, I’ll probably go with white or blue. We’ll see. I really do love that red one, though! My old MP3 player is blue, and –while I still love it (a Creative Zen Vision: M)– the blue got old after a while. Plus, the iPod is going to be more fun, as I’ll have the apps and such, too, not just the music. LOL — I feel old when I think about how I’ll have to have my kids teach me how to find stuff on my iPod. They’ve had their’s for a while now, so I plan on asking them to show me a few things.
Happy Reading, everyone!
