God-Sized Dreams: Letting Go
This coming week’s question to the God-Sized Dream Team asks…
What do you need to say “no” or “not now” or “not so much” to so that your dream can thrive?
Decide what you will decrease in your life so your God-sized dream has more room to increase.
Well, given that I’m pursuing several God-Sized Dreams, I again have more than one answer for this:
In order to pursue my dream of weight loss and health, I need to say “no” to eating when I’m not actually, physically hungry, and I need to say “no” to drinking pop. I have slacked off on this for the last couple of weeks, and need to get myself disciplined, again.
For my writing GSD, I need to say “not now” to spending hours online, surfing Pinterest, checking Facebook, and whatever else is my current time-waster. I need to sit down and write the things God is calling me to write. No more procrastination.
For my relating GSD, I need to say “no” to my old style of doing things, and “yes” to the new way God has shown me to handle these people or situations.
For my GSD of having more patience, I need to say “not so much” to letting myself get frustrated when things aren’t going how I want them to. I need to build in a “cushion” of extra time (as I read in a blog post, the other day), so that I’m not always rushing things.
And, lastly, for my Bible-reading GSD, I need to say “not now” to the other things that might want my attention, and make spending time with God through His Word my first priority. For if I “seek Him first” above all else, “all these other things will be added” to me.
