The Sunday Post (Aug. 18)
We had a family wedding yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. Got to do some dancing, so I enjoyed myself. And, we have yet another family wedding (other side) next weekend! ‘Tis the season!
On the business front, I got my concept finished & handed in. But I was up ’til 2 a.m. on Monday morning, then slept for four hours, then got up and worked on it for another 3 hours, just to get it done! Thankfully, though — despite the last minute rush — it was complete, and ready to hand in come time for my appointment, Monday morning. And it will be going before the review committee tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear the response — praying SO HARD that it’s a positive one!
Still lots to do for the business stuff… but I’ve taken this past week to just relax. Last weekend was a marathon of writing and research. Of course, I’d been researching since May, but still… I’d waited on writing that concept until the last minute, as there were still things that I needed to learn from the workshops I attended the week before. So, yeah. It was crazy, last weekend, but I’m so glad it’s done and in, and that we can move on to the next step of the process! Now come the phone calls and set-up (hopefully — need a positive response from that committee, first!). If the committee approves my proposal, I’ll get to take 4 weeks of business classes, and will be setting up my website, and getting business cards made, and looking into my business advisors, etc. Busy-busy!
On the reading front…
I finally finished the business book I had been reading! With the mini-break, after handing in my proposal, I decided to throw myself back into reading my book. And it was really good! I can’t wait to share my review of it! (but, because it’s a business book, I’m keeping it under wraps until later). I’ll tell you this, though: it’s going on my list of Top 10′s for this year.
Next up, I’m not sure what I’ll read. I have “Eat, Move, Sleep” by Tom Rath, which is a review book from NetGalley, and I have “Hijacked” by Dr. David Kessler, which is a review book from LibraryThing.com’s “Early Reviewers“. Other than that, I have some library books I could still get into, or whatever.
Business planning has been really tough on my reading. I have only finished one book, so far, for August. And June was like that, too — only one book! Normally, I read 5-6 books per month! So, yeah… this is taking its toll on my reading for the year. BUT… it’s so entirely worth it. I can always read more later… maybe.
Overall, things are plugging along… Here’s to another week, and to Happy Reading!
