Musing Mondays (Feb. 17)

February 17, 2014

MusingMondays5Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

My Musing:

A book I’m currently desperate to get my hands on is one I found online about a week ago. It’s called “A Tale of Two Centuries” by Rachel Harris, and it sounds fabulous! Here’s the description:

HarrisRachel_ATaleOfTwoCenturiesAlessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

  4. I love the sound of the book. I looked up the author and saw it is book two in a series. I will be looking to see if my library has both. Here is my very short muse: http://mixedbookbag.blogspot.com/2014/02/musing-mondays-feburary-17-2014.html

  5. Time travel has a sort of charm which never fades. It always interest me to know how the author would have treated the confusion of the character. Some do it hilariously, and some do it with so much of emotions. Same subject sounds new every time. My musing for today:

  10. A Tale of Two Centuries sounds really interesting. This week I muse about finding the balance between reading for pleasure and reading to review. http://captivatedbybooks.wordpress.com/2014/02/17/musing-monday-17-feb/

  13. What a coincidence! The book I teased (Beautiful Ruins) bounces from present day Italy back to Rome of days gone by, only those days are the 1960s.
