Teaser Tuesdays (Sept.8)

teasertuesdays31 Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

regretfreeliving_stephenarterburn_LTcomMy Teasers:

“I was in a large room with three other patients, each of whom was suffering from advanced emphysema. Halfway through my second day one of the men began to cough vigorously.”

~ p.61-62, “Regret-Free Living” by Stephen Arterburn

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

  1. Wow that is a harsh ailment. . . great teaser though!

It has been quite a while since I’ve participated in Teaser Tuesday – and I blame a horrible case of morning sickness!!! But, I’m finally feeling a bit better and want to jump back in – yeah!! SO. . . here is my first teaser in quite some time!!

  2. Hi was over at Sherries Books when I saw a link to your site.

“It was only part rage, though, that enabled her to keep him at a distance.”
    “Harriet had chocolate.”

  3. Heard about this from Attic Girl! Here’s mine taken from the first book within reach from my chair.

A QUAKER SUMMER, by Lisa Samson.

“Right, Dad. And Maybe I don’t live like Christ because I’ve taken the Man out of Him, made what He did here so mysterious and unreachable that I’ve taken away any possibility of success in imitating Him.”

  4. Oh, I’ve seen this book around. I’ll check back to see your review of it.

My teaser this week is taken from the hilarious book Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging. (Click on my name) I couldn’t just pick one!

  5. Oh and by the way – love the teaser. My friend is currently reading this. I don’t know what she thinks as of yet. Will have to check your thoughts!

  6. Found your Teaser Tuesday link at bookworminginthe21stcentury.com. I don’t blog yet and love it when people comment on the book they’re “teasing” from before adding the link. Mine is from The Chimera’s Curse by Julia Golding (book 4 in the companions quartet which I gobbled up.)

“I thought there was no harm in being prepared. I’ve met him three times already-I can’t believe he’s going to leave me along now.” “No, he will not. But that is very different from seeking him out, as you well know.”

  7. Hmm, your teaser leaves me intrigued.

Here’s mine, from playwright Neil Simon’s excellent memoir, Rewrites: “Some plays come easily, some take time, and some feel as though you’re pushing Noah’s Ark, after the flood, up Mount Ararat, animals included. This time the first act came easily.” p. 152
