Teaser Tuesdays (Mar.30)

teasertuesdays31 Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

“If you want to, you can eat meat-lover’s pizza, ice cream, chocolate, or whatever else you like… The only limiter is that you have to eat those foods in smaller amounts… and you have to wait for hunger pangs.”

~ p.25, “The Eden Diet” by Rita Hancock, M.D.

PS… My review of this book is here: https://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/2010/03/29/review-the-eden-diet-by-rita-hancock-md/

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your 2 ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

    • I have waited for those hunger pangs, and I lost 25 lbs in 6 months while still eating chocolate, pizza, and ice cream! It DEFINITELY works! 😉

  1. I love this advice – it pretty much is telling readers to control their eating, which is what can cause over weight in the first place (over-eating) and is what a lot of people have trouble with (over-eating and self-control) Wish it were that easy, but I’m sure there is more detailed advice in the book.

My tuesday teaser is here ( http://mardel-rabidreader.blogspot.com/2010/03/teaser-tuesday_30.html ) – abd I’m having a lot of fun with this weekly meme! Thanks for hosting it, Miz B.

  2. I’m feeling “hunger pangs” right now! Does that mean I “can eat meat-lover’s pizza, ice cream or chocolate” at 10:05 A.M.? j/k 😛

Here is mine for this week.

  3. I like your `Teaser Tuesday`.
It sounds like the `Rick & Bubba Big Honkin` Book Of Grub` I just reviewed. They talk about eating what you want but in moderation.

It’s so hard to wait on those hunger pangs.
I made some cookies yesterday & I want to eat them all.

    Thanks for posting.
    My teaser is up.

  4. July 1937. A train wails through the night like an angry dragon. It heads toward Shanxi Province in the northwest of the country. This is guerilla territory–the heartland of the Communist Party and its Red Army. Lan Ping is twenty-three years old.

From “Becoming Madame Mao” by Anchee Min. Great read for those who like to pick up a bit of history along with their fiction. Lan Ping, of course, was to become Madame Mao Zedong, the woman universally known as the “white-boned demon,” whom many hold directly responsible for the excesses of the Cultural Revolution.
