Teaser Tuesdays (Nov.20)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:

“I watched those people inhale, smile, and then act crazy. I watched as others gulped liquor and beer until they were cross-eyed drunk, falling all over me, themselves, and our spartan hippie furniture.”

~ p.85, “Everything” by Mary DeMuth

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! :D

  1. Teaser Tuesdays:
“Isabel couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened to the woman and her baby at the poppy fields. She was aware of the possibilities, and there were few: She’d been beaten, perhaps hospitalized, or even killed; she’d been put in jail, where women who committed ‘moral crimes,’ such as adultery, marrying men of their own choosing, running away from an abusive husband, or shaming the family were often sent; she’d been committed to the insane asylum, where women were put for the same reasons; or she had died of self-immolation, the terrible decision made by an increasing number of Afghan women to commit suicide by dousing themselves with cooking oil and setting themselves on fire.”

  3. Hi MizB,

I love those teaser lines, although having checked out the book link, I don’t think that it is something I would read, maybe a little too religious for my tastes.

My book this week is also Christian fiction, but is not really a religious book at all, more one which takes an in depth look at the human emotions and finds each and every one of us sadly lacking.

    Thanks for hosting,

  4. Happy Teaser Tuesday! Presenting–“QUICKIES” by Ollie Levy (former Sex & the City writer)

“Jeffrey stayed in the car. He looked at me with a mischievous grin on his face and said, “Honey, pull off and make a left.

What was he talking about? He had forty-five minutes to check-in. I paid him no mind, got out of the car and went to open the trunk.

Five minutes later we were in a room, had stripped off our clothes and were deep in the throws of passion.”
